Maina Kageni almost succumbed to snake bite had it not been for quick surgery. According to his close friend, Shaffie Weru, Maina was bitten by the venomous puff Adder when he went out for his routine excercise in Kajiado.
Maina himself had kept most of his fans in the dark, concerning the reason for his hospitalization.
He had initially tweeted that he got a knee injury that required surgery. We had believe him, little did we know that he had a more serious condition. You never know, maybe he did not intend to raise tension among his millions of fans.
He had since undergone fasciotomy surgery to remove and dilute the effects of the snake poison at Agha Khan Hospital. Maina is expected to resume duties next week. We wish him well.
